The KM 184 from Neumann are an elegant set of condenser microphones carrying small-diaphragm made of cardioid polar pattern to offer premium Neumann sound that’s both open and musical. The Neumann Series 180 has three microphone ranges with different pickup patterns, namely, the Omni KM 183, cardioid KM 184 and hyper-cardioid KM 185.

Like the KM 100, the KM 180 series condenser microphones feature a transformerless output stage which functions towards providing high-output gain through very low noise production without any colouration of the output signal.
Since condenser microphones have no internal amplifier to power them, the KM 184 uses phantom power of 48V. It offers a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which provides you with the utmost flexibility to use these microphones in any recording situations.
The KM 184’s cardioid polar pattern can handle high sound-pressure levels of up to 138 dB, allowing you to use these condenser microphones reasonably closer to other audio systems and instruments.
