The DI 5.5R of Definitive Speakers range is a disappearing Series two-way round speaker used in-wall or in-ceiling. The grille being just 7.3” in diameter, this speaker effortlessly fits into any space constraint without having to sacrifice effective wall acoustics.
This in-ceiling Definitive Speakers are adequately supported with the white grille which can be painted as per the room requirement and individual choice. The grille carries a low-profile design with a no-border hidden flange, due to which the DI 5.5R speaker seems to disappear to general vision.
The driver consists of a 1” round pivoting aluminum dome for the tweeter and a 5.25” dia BDSS for the mid/woofer. The lightweight tweeter delivers clear, distortion-free high frequencies of good precision.
Definitive Technology’s exclusive Balanced Double Surround System (BDSSTM) helps in cone excursion, offering more bass in less space while maintaining fine midrange frequency levels. This is achieved by the double butyl rubber rings around the speaker driver. This Disappearing Series in-ceiling speaker also features a PolystoneTM basket which serves as a stronger surface for the excursion.
While delivering you with premium quality sound, the DI 5.5R Definitive Speakers is designed with the AeroringTM technology around the BDSS driver, which ensures even distribution of clear, well-balanced sound free from all disturbances.
The DI 5.5R Definitive Speakers through its hidden flange design paves way for a very flexible and easy installation, similar to that of the traditional flanged speakers.
However, for installations during building construction, Definitive technology has specifically made pre-construction rough-in brackets, which fixes the speaker brackets to the studs or joists in advance of the wall completion.
