Mr. Gopal Naik wanted to incorporate a good-looking, high-performing personal home theater room setup in his 4-story house in Bharath Nagar. The client was keen on having lush interiors and was budget-conscious, but gave our Audio Visual consultants a free hand on the technical aspects. Due to this, we were able to experiment with new ideas for the personal home theater, keep Mr. Gopal in the loop for key decisions, and successfully meet his high expectations.
To deliver a home theater room setup with a high-end AV system featuring an ultra HD 4K projector; and good, clean interiors that support the home theater’s acoustics by enabling sound scattering and also give the home cinema a rich interior finish.
Acoustic Interiors & Audio-Video
- To start off, we put in Laminated wooden flooring in the home theater. To spruce up the typically plain fabric walls, we used pyramid-shaped wood designs for the walls instead which were further enhanced using ambient lighting. This pyramidal design both enhanced the aesthetics of the home theater and worked acoustically to scatter sound in multiple directions, making for strong acoustics.
- This pyramidal design was manifested in three sections, with alternating fabric and wood portions in each section – the wooden portion projected out of the fabric base and converged onto a point to form the apex of the pyramid.
- We configured the rear wall panels with bass traps after extensive acoustic calculations, to enhance the quality of the home cinema acoustics. The rear wall was finished in plain fabric to divert attention to the pyramidal design of the left and right walls of the home theater room design.
- The ceiling for the home theater room setup was done in three parts – the first and third parts were finished in plain fabric and constituted a false ceiling dropped to 9’ height from the original ceiling, the second part was another pyramidal unit finished in wood, tapering to a 9’6” height and enhanced with cove lights on either side.
- We put in a screen wall 2’2” from the front concrete wall to mount the Edgeless 165” model from Elite Screens company.In front of the screen we placed two Paradigm Premier 700F speakers on the left and right, with a Paradigm Premier 600C speaker placed in the center.
- We mounted 4 surround speakers flush with the wall with each speaker’s grille plate painted according to the wall’s finish. We used Paradigm C-65IW speakers for this purpose.
- We put in a Cassette AC centered on the second portion of the ceiling, along with a premium 4K, Sony VPL XW5000ES projector for optimal viewing.
- For ceiling atoms speakers, we used Paradigm C-65R speaker level with the false ceiling and the grille plate painted to match the ceiling’s finish.
- To provide a deep and rich bass sound we installed two Polk Audio HTS12 subwoofers. The front three speakers, two subwoofers, and AV rack with Denon AVC X-4700H receiver were all hidden behind the front screen.
- We put in two rows of multi-coloured, electric seating, with 3 recliners in the first row and 4 in the second. The second row was made on a ply-built platform raised to a 10” height and 7 ‘6” depth from the rear wall.

Mr.Gopal Naik desired a high-end home theater room setup capable of delivering a top-notch audio-visual experience within budget. After taking time to conduct extensive acoustic analysis on the space, optimizing speaker and subwoofer placement, and taking Mr. Gopal through meticulous plans; Our Media Room Design team was able to successfully create a home theater with lush and ambient interiors, and Ultra HD viewing that the client was satisfied with.
