Ms. Ranjitha Ravi and her family desired a cozy multi-purpose media room with clean aesthetics and strong audio performance, within an affordable budget. Our Professional Theater designers based out of Bangalore devoted more attention to getting the home cinema acoustics, speaker placement, and home theater aesthetics just right. We were given full freedom for designing a home theater room and delivered a High-End home theater with premium aesthetics and high-quality audio, despite the
compromise.
Balancing budget with quality and designing a home theater room with an exceptional price to performance ratio, and to optimize home cinema acoustics and aesthetics to make up for a slight compromise on audio equipment due to budget constraints.
Acoustics & Audio-Video
Our Professional Home Theater team installed 5.1.2 a Dolby Atmos audio system (5 surround speakers, 1 subwoofer, 2 overhead speakers) while designing a home theater room, to ensure balance between cost and quality. For cinema-grade viewing, we put in a 110” mounted screen with a BenQ Full HD projector.
Overall Implementation
- The interior home theater design followed a palette of brown and beige. We started off by putting in wooden flooring to give the home theater a warm, smooth feel. We put in a casual 3-seater sofa for comfy seating.
- To help deliver optimum sound performance we calculated the acoustics required and decided to put in 4.5” acoustic home theater wall panels. The front wall was paneled completely.
- For the side walls we ran a horizontal band 4’6” in height, with triangular pointed edges which were enhanced with ambient lighting. All the home theater wall panels were painted on the upper and lower portions, and finished with brown fabric.
- The left wall had a wide window which allowed access for ventilation via a soundproofed and fabric-finished shutter so that when the client closed the window it appeared to be in level with the wall panels.
- The home theater’s false ceiling was at 9’ from the wood-finished floor and had a single level, with two rectangular strips of warm, white profile lights.
- The front wall supported the AV rack, which also carried the Denon AVC X-1700H receiver and two bookshelf speakers. The two speakers placed on the left and right, in front of the screen, were Polk Audio ES15 models. The central speaker was a Polk Audio ES35.
- We used just one subwoofer in the home theater setup – a Polk Audio HTS 10. This was placed at the rear wall left corner, behind the 3 Seater Home Theater Sofa.
- The surround speakers couldn’t be mounted in level with the seating, so the Home Theater Installation team decided to go with two in-wall Polk Audio RC55i speakers mounted flush with rear-wall paneling. These were angled precisely to ensure that the surround sound is targeted towards the seating.
- For atmos speakers we used two Polk Audio RC60i speakers.
- Finally, to ensure a high-def viewing experience we put in a Full HD projector from BenQ TH685 attached to the ceiling, and 110” Elite screens mounted on the fabric finished front wall, with a 2.5” velvet border.

Ms. Ranjitha Ravi wanted a cozy interior home theater design with exceptional audio, clean aesthetics and cinema-grade viewing without breaking the bank. By conducting extensive acoustic analysis and optimizing speaker & subwoofer placement while designing a home theater room,Our Professional Home Theater installation team was able to deliver a premium home theater despite the budgetary compromise.
